WORLD’S FIRST COLLABORATIVE WELDING ROBOT IS COMING TO SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN IN ESSEN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 11, 2023

VANCOUVER, CANADA – Novarc Technologies Inc. (“Novarc”), a full-stack robotics company specializing in the design and commercialization of collaborative robots (“cobots”) and AI systems for robotic welding applications, announced today the company will be exhibiting at Schweissen & Schneiden at Messe Essen (Germany), in Hall 3, Booth Stand 3C65, on September 11-15, 2023.

Novarc’s Spool Welding Robot (SWR™) is the world’s first welding cobot that increases productivity and shop capacity, delivering superior weld quality and improving welder ergonomics. With Novarc’s SWR™, pipe fabricators achieve a 3-5x increase in pipe welding productivity and up to 12x increase in productivity; and, repair rates are lowered to less than one per cent.

“We’re very excited to have a presence at Schweissen & Schneiden in Essen. Novarc’s welding automation technology provides a solution for European manufacturers to transition from manual welding to a welding cobot that lowers the cost of welding, increases productivity and achieves more consistent weld quality,” says Soroush Karimzadeh, CEO of Novarc Technologies.

Novarc’s SWR™ is the world’s first welding cobot providing pipe fabrication shops servicing oil & gas, building construction, shipbuilding and other process piping applications with a collaborative welding robot solution that allows operators to collect welding data in real time and monitor weld quality through a high resolution vision system. Novarc automates the pipe welding process, working alongside a human operator, to increase productivity, weld quality and consistency, with the ability to recover clients’ capital investment within six to 18 months.

“Our customers are achieving significant productivity improvements with their Spool Welding Robots, which is allowing them to be much more competitive when bidding on jobs, and increasing the margin on jobs they’ve already won,” adds Karimzadeh.

Novarc’s AI-driven welding control technology delivers a sustainable solution for welding. The SWR™ requires less energy consumption than manual welding because of more precise arc-on-time, reducing the welding duration through customized automation, and delivering a reduction in CO2 emissions and metal fumes, and hazardous airborne materials. The SWR™ also reduces metal waste by lowering the repair rate to less than one per cent (compared to the industry average of 3-5 per cent).

The SWR™ reduces human exposure to dangerous welding fumes as the operator can work remotely from the welding arc, reducing their exposure to UV light, excessive heat, and arc flash. The system also drops the requirement for post-weld NDT, further reducing exposure to X-rays.

Novarc recently partnered with Lincoln Electric, the leading global manufacturer of advanced arc welding solutions and automated joining, assembly and cutting systems, to expand the company’s automated cobot pipe welding solutions.

As part of the partnership, Novarc has integrated Lincoln Electric’s welding technologies, including Lincoln’s patented Surface Tension Transfer® (STT®) root pass technology and HyperFill® twin wire MIG welding solutions into Novarc’s automated pipe welding solution.

Novarc is excited to announce the company is expanding to Europe in January 2024, to be in closer proximity to the growing customer base, and to work closely with global partner, Abicor Binzel.

Novarc has been recognized among 500 other companies on the fourth annual Financial Times list of The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies 2023, and has been named to the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies placing #132, based on the company’s escalating three-year growth of 351 per cent.
