World's First Collaborative Welding Robot Is Coming To Australia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 6, 2022

VANCOUVER, CANADA – Novarc Technologies Inc. (“Novarc”), a full-stack robotics company specializing in the design and commercialization of cobots and AI systems for robotic welding applications, announced today the company will be exhibiting at Australian Manufacturing Week at ICC Sydney, June 7 to 10, 2022 (Booth RA78).

Novarc’s Spool Welding Robot (“SWR”) is the world’s first welding cobot that increases productivity and shop capacity, delivering superior weld quality and improving welder ergonomics. “We’re very excited to have a presence at Australian Manufacturing Week for the first time. Novarc’s welding automation technology provides a solution for manufacturers to transition from
manual welding to a welding cobot that lowers the cost of welding, increases productivity and achieves more consistent weld quality,” says Soroush Karimzadeh, CEO of Novarc Technologies.

Novarc’s SWR is the world’s first welding cobot providing pipe fabrication shops servicing oil & gas, building construction, shipbuilding and other process piping applications with a collaborative welding robot solution that transforms the way clients can bid on jobs. Novarc automates the pipe welding process, working alongside a human operator, to increase productivity, weld quality and consistency, with the ability to recover clients’ capital investment within six to 18 months.

“Our customers are achieving significant productivity improvements with their Spool Welding Robots, which is allowing them to be much more competitive when bidding on jobs, and increasing the margin on jobs they’ve already won,” adds Karimzadeh.

Novarc’s solution is also helping the welding industry solve a huge problem: the severe global shortage of highly skilled welders affecting industries needed to construct the world’s infrastructure. Pipe shops serving these global industries require highly skilled welders, and it is predicted there will be a shortage of nearly 30,000 welding operators in Australia by 2025. Novarc developed the collaborative Spool Welding Robot (SWR) to minimize and help eliminate this bottleneck in construction by enabling welders to be more productive and efficient. To that end, Novarc launched the Spool Welding Robot (SWR), the world’s first welding cobot in 2016.

Novarc has been recognized among 500 other companies on the third annual The Financial Times (FT) list of The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies 2022, and has been named to the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies placing #57 out of 448 Canadian companies.
